The challenge

The client had an SAP ECC ERP in their IT landscape. However, the existing paper-based training scheduling was challenging to maintain and track.

The client wanted to effectively train their training workforce with skills as per the job requirements and holistically improve the safety culture of the organization. The management preferred to track the training attended by employees and plan for cross-skilling, and wanted to conduct assessments of the training as well as take feedback on the training conducted. This called for a platform where employees could recommend the courses that they wanted to undertake, and excel at their job.

The solution

YASH consultants suggested the implementation of SAP SuccessFactors learning management system (LMS) for the client needs. The existing system had been configured to schedule multiple pieces of training in various forms including online, instructor lead courses, on the job training, etc. As per the client’s request, the team customized country-specific workflow approval processes for every training and also tailored notifications for users and supervisors on learning events and activities. The platform was further configured to allow users to suggest training courses that were needed for their existing job.

The implementation of SAP SuccessFactors resulted in clear visibility of learning processes, progress and completion via real-time dashboards for the management. Automating various processes helped eliminate manual, paper-based training programs, and a unified platform for learning made it easier for the client to maintain.
