The client had deployed SAP ERP in 2001 and was struggling to manage the high volumes of data growth as their business scaled to a network of >4500 employees and >800,000 patient visits.

The large volumes of data accumulating in the SAP ERP database had a significant impact on system performance, dialog response times, time for system backup and the overall cost of utilization. In addition to reducing the overall size, cost of ownership and complexities of the database, the client wanted to not only boost the overall IT performance and availability, but also accommodate abilities for growth and expansion with scalable solutions.

The solution

YASH consultants performed a detailed system assessment of the database growth. After understanding the detailed business needs, the team designed a phased archiving strategy and covered the archiving objects, retention periods, business data elements, and retrieval plans. Throughout the analysis, design, implementation, execution and go-live phase, we also provided additional custom enhancements with complete documentation for functional reports using archived and non-archived payroll and HR data to meet Client’s unique business requirements.
