Headquartered in India, the client is a leading player in the mining and processing of specialized grades of minerals, along with manufacturing a range of gas meter instruments.

The challenge

The leadership was keen to break down the silos within the different departments of the organization, which often caused operational inefficiencies.

The client was looking for a system that would interact with their weighbridges and collect the weight of loaded vehicles and an automated quality inspection for gas meter manufacturing. Another challenge was the manual involvement in the current systems which resulted in the leadership team receiving incorrect reports and the finance team dealing with unreconciled amounts.

Our approach

YASH consultants assisted the client in establishing an SAP CoE by implementing SAP S/4HANA 1610 utilizing the activate approach, which was tailored to the unique needs of the mining and manufacturing industry. The SAP system was connected with third-party weighbridge software to record the steady weight of loaded trucks, which enabled the client to monitor the vehicles within the mines. Additionally, the solution helped in plant maintenance and enabled early examination throughout the financial close time, avoiding intercompany reconciliation discrepancies. Implementation of SAP S/4HANA also allowed the purchasing procedure in the mines to be streamlined and consolidated.
