The challenge

With a growing number of employees across the world, the client’s HR operations became more complex and challenging, with managers having to spend more time in administrative tasks.

The lagging HR processes not only became time-intensive, but there was also a need to enhance efficiency with the automation of business processes. The client sought to better utilize the managers’ time for core strategic activities by accelerating HR functions, and upgrade the HR infrastructure with the latest features and functionalities available with SAP releases.

The solution

To initiate the system upgrade, YASH assessed the health of the pre-existing system for upgrade readiness. Over 150 checks of the operating system, database, and SAP components were performed. The team also conducted thorough technical and functional assessments for detailed customizations. Over only seven months, the client’s HR infrastructure was upgraded to pave the way for web-based business applications, with enhancements to support processes including data protection, working time and leave monitoring, integration of timesheets with leave sheets, compensation planning and more.

Business impact

The SAP HCM upgrade helped enhance multiple business processes for the client, including compensation planning, leave request processing, and payroll. Not only did the client see significant cost savings due to proactive assessments, but rich analytics were also now available to the managers and HR personnel for better decision making. The workloads for HR also decreased significantly with automated multi-level approval processes, leading to increased efficiency and productivity.
