Achieving 100% digital migration for a globally recognized chemicals producer

Headquartered in Japan, the client is a tech-driven diversified chemicals producer, leading in R&D, manufacturing, and marketing of innovative products.

The challenge

Spread worldwide, and the client wanted to shift their North American operations from SAP ECC 6.0 to SAP S/4HANA to improve their efficiency and user experience.

The client was looking to upgrade their digital efforts while partnering with a service provider to implement the same. The project was a delicate undertaking with the volume and diversity of data migrated within budget and time. Without jeopardizing the current project, the client wanted to reinvent their digital processes and avoid further allocations.

Our approach

YASH stepped in as an extended partner and proposed a solution for the best engagement model. YASH executed the project in two significant phases: extracting and cleaning all the data from ECC and loading it into SAP S/4HANA using the Data Migration cockpit (DMC) tool and other customized solutions for this particular undertaking. The existing DMC templates extracted 35 data objects and constructed 65 new upload programs, such as LSMW and ABAP. YASH performed multiple rounds of testing and synced SAP S/4HANA with all discrepancies analyzed and removed.

Complete digital migration attained

Eliminating the limitations of the SAP ECC system, the client was able to push forth their agenda of being a 100% digital operation at all locations. Working in tandem with the service providers, the client gained a rare skill set to perform data validation at a low cost.
