The challenge

To achieve a nimble operational posture worldwide, the client needed to initiate a comprehensive roadmap for migrating from on-premise applications and servers to the cloud.

The client’s IoT resources and customers were peppered all across the globe. To ensure improved availability, consistent performance, minimal downtime, and seamless connectivity, the client wanted to switch to a cloud-native operational IT model. The aim was to steer the transition of their entire data asset landscape to the cloud, with a disruption-free hosting of IoT sensors databases and the associated Data Analytics platform.

The solution

Team YASH assessed and understood the client’s needs and defined a roadmap for a hassle-free migration with reduced Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). This led to improved availability of all applications and servers. The team also created customized dashboards to keep track of the maintenance overheads. The establishment of an infrastructure-as-code pipeline allowed the automatic rollout of cloud changes in AWS, ensuring feasibility through Proof of Concepts (POCs). Using AWS Landing Zone scripts, it was possible to manage and accelerate the task loads by provisioning individual account’s migration to the AWS platform. The on-premise to cloud connectivity was configured with Central Transit Hub, and the internal servers were protected from intrusion by implementing a single sign-on for all accounts. Additionally, VPCs were leveraged to prevent unverified access.
