One of the most common requirements for any Learning Management System (LMS) offering any course is to have some basic knowledge pertaining to the offered course. SAP SuccessFactors addresses this through something called as prerequisite which is the basis for registering oneself to any course through LMS.Prerequisites offer multiple choices of trainings to be completed before attending any new training module. For example – to undertake performance management mastery training, a user should have completed either introduction to mastery or SAP SuccessFactors core training. This feature to choose between two requirements or group of requirements was not available prior to 1302 release. Post 1302 release, SAP SuccessFactors has added this feature making it easier to toggle between two requirements. SAP SuccessFactors prerequisites are used to define enrolment eligibility rules, which are enforced by the LMS during the course enrolment process. The intent is to configure courses to reserve enrolment for those who fulfil eligibility criteria.
The blog post link below illustrates in detail (with examples) the procedure to add ‘AND/OR’ condition for a prerequisite. This process has made it easier for administrators and decision makers to configure prerequisites for LMS.
